“The Constitution only gives people the right to pursue happiness. You have to catch it yourself.” Benjamin Franklin quotes (American Statesman, Scientist, Philosopher, Printer, Writer and Inventor. 1706-1790)

I’m fascinated with all the extraordinary, wonderful, amazing things there are in this world. I can’t get enough of finding out. Research tends to be addictive for me.

Mainly I write for children, but that doesn’t get in the way of me tackling some subjects for more mature readers. And sometimes they overlap. Don’t you enjoy reading something intended for kids once in a while?

On the nonfiction side, I have an article about biofuel, and one on the relationship between science and the art of baking. Another tells about how slimy ships may save the ocean! Odyssey Magazine, for kids 9-14, published those. But I bet you’d enjoy reading them no matter what age you are!

There’s another magazine article, published in Forward in Christ, titled “Not Time to Panic!” - definitely intended for those who are old enough to wonder about what’s going on in the world today.

My book, DRIVEN, is the true  story of two Hmong children who escape from Laos following the Vietnamese War–an escape from extermination of the Hmong by the Pathet Lao, the new communist government–only to find death a constant companion as they wandered for months in the jungle.

It is a tale of day-to-day survival in refugee camps, in horrific circumstances difficult to imagine. How those two children met and married, and what they are doing now is a satisfying climax to this remarkable account.

America will never be destroyed from the outside.

If we falter, and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves. — Abraham Lincoln
