Those words, “. . . let them die,” referred to any parents who disagreed with a multitude of educational and ideological positions of the speaker and teachers. You may have heard of the rant by NAACP first vice president Michelle Leete. She is also vice president of training at the Virginia state PTA and vice president of communications for the Fairfax County PTA.
The words are breathtaking. It sounds like she meant them. And then the applause that followed demonstrated that others feel the same as Ms. Leete.
Preceding that definitive statement, “let them die,” was a list of items relating to education as well as those expressing the ideologies of Leete and her adherents. They all were preceded with “anti,” so I’ll skip that as we look at what she expounded.
She said parents rejecting the teaching of critical race theory were “anti-” education, teachers, history, science, healthcare, children, opportunities, and environment. At least those elements of her diatribe related to what would be taught to children in Fairfax County, Virginia. It’s foolish even if you read the list casually. What parents were against education for their children? What parents were against teachers? Why wouldn’t parents want healthcare for their children, opportunities, and a healthful environment? They weren’t against education, but what was being taught. They weren’t against teachers, but what those teachers were indoctrinating their children with.
Michelle Leete was just getting started. Aside from those elements above, she said parents were anti-
- equity
- racial reckoning
- help people
- diversity
- platform
- change agent
- social justice
- worker
- LGBTQ+
- admissions policy change
- inclusion
- live-and-let-live
We can deal with a few of those rather quickly: helping people, diversity, inclusion, and live-and-let-live. Americans are known the world over for their generosity and willingness to help others. Our citizens have come from all over the world. They are encouraged to be part of a melting pot that is exemplified by our American values. In my opinion, we are also known for giving space to every individual to be themselves, live-and-let-live—although when there are those who try to take “our own space” from us, we will certainly rise to defend ourselves and our families. It is against the law to discriminate against LGBTQ+ people whether you agree with their lifestyle or not. I don’t know what she is referring to with “admissions policy change.”
That leaves on the list some rather significant issues that we must not overlook. Equity. Racial reckoning. Platform. Change agent. Social justice. Worker. These come straight out of Marxism. You may want to re-read my post of February 6, 2021, titled BLM AT SCHOOL. More and more Americans are becoming aware of the plan to “radically transform America,” and Marxist advocates are finding it difficult to hide their intentions. As they have had the curtain pulled away, they have determined to not even try to disguise their intent any longer. They’ve decided, “in for a penny, in for a pound.” Bear in mind what I said above, Ms. Leete is vice president of training at the Virginia state PTA and vice president of communications for the Fairfax County PTA. Is this the kind of person you want your child’s teachers to give allegiance to?
Remember these words of Michelle Leete: “Let them die. Don’t let these uncomfortable people deter us from our bold march forward.” Be bolder than they! Fight for school choice. Defend your family, your rights, your country, and your God. If not you, then who?
7/18/2021 Just Released—I just read the following at FoxNews.com:
An official with the Virginia Parent-Teacher Association resigned after she was recorded on camera saying opponents of critical race theory can “die.”
“Today, the Virginia PTA executive committee requested and received the resignation of Michelle Leete, who served as Vice President of Training,” a Saturday statement from the association reads.
“The actions & rhetoric of Ms. Leete & all of the like-minded partisan supporters of the SB are deeply disappointing. It evinces a deep lack of concern for children & parents, particularly where the wellbeing of children & families clash with political considerations,” a tweet accompanying the statement reads.
That is a positive step. Don’t forget, however, the number of people present at her speech who applauded and cheered when she endorsed the death of those who didn’t agree with her. They are still out there influencing your children.
